John Eastaugh

The Rt Rev John Richard Gordon Eastaugh was an eminent Anglican Bishop in the last third of the 20th Century [1]. He was born on 11 March 1920 and educated at the University of Leeds and ordained in 1944. He began his career with a curacy at All Saints, Poplar[2]and then held incumbencies at Hackney and Heston before a spell as Archdeacon of Middlesex.[3] He was elevated to the Episcopate as Bishop of Hereford in 1973[4] and died in post 17 years later. He died on 16 February 1990.
